Optima Takes Paris!!

To mark Optima turning 10 years old – we went to Paris for the weekend to celebrate!! Judging by the silence on the train home, everyone had a fantastic, fun filled time!

The weekend started with an early Friday finish which was swiftly followed by champers on the train and a loud, excited journey on the eurostar. (To all the other passengers on our carriage, apologies!)

Once checked into the hotel (rose gold taps and heated toilet seats are actually a thing!), we headed out to dinner and enjoyed the local French delicacies on offer… including snails, steak and frites, Mille-feuille and a cheese board to die for! The drinks continued flowing until the early hours along with enthusiastic discussions about which sights were priority for the next day.

The Louvre, Notre Dame and Effiel Tower featured heavily on the Saturday, along with prosecco on the Seine and French onion soup, brassiere style – Paris truly is a beautiful city, brimming with history and charm.

The Moulin Rouge show that evening was the perfect way to round off the weekend… Walking into the legendary red windmill was like stepping back in time with all the flare and dramatics of a modern show (we won’t go into detail and ruin it for anyone who hasn’t been) but it is a MUST for anyone visiting Paris for the weekend.

Needless to say, the journey home on the Sunday was a quiet affair but the hangovers were so worth it…..
