Although responsibilities will vary, the role of an Administrator will normally include the following:
- Typing correspondence
- Database maintenance
- Organising paperwork and implementing systems and procedures
- Managing incoming and outgoing post
- Taking and redirecting calls or managing the switchboard
- Scheduling meetings, diary management
- Carrying out other administrative tasks, including photocopying, faxing and ordering stationery
What skills are required?
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Good communication skills
- Being organised & methodical

- Progression into a Secretarial, PA or Office Manager role is common.
Secretarial
A Secretary will usually provide administrative support and services to Senior Executives, ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Main responsibilities include:
- Organising and operating the office filing system
