According to the Office of National Statistics, the number of job vacancies in the UK has hit a record high in recent months.

Vacancies hit 1.1 million between July and September, the highest level since records began in 2001.

The ONS said the number of employees on payrolls showed another monthly increase, rising 207,000 to a record 29.2 million in September.  Average weekly earnings, including bonuses, are also 7.2% higher than this time last year.

It’s a good time to be looking for a job.

Here at Optima we have experienced a significant increase in vacancies across all sectors we recruit in, which has led us to placing the highest number of temporary and permanent workers since we opened our doors 14 years ago.
