Purchasing Assistant

Exclusive and prestigious organization, based near Croydon, that specializes in high end luxury goods within residential and hospitality sectors is looking for an organized and efficient administrator with first class organizational skills to join their team

Job Description:

• Based within operations, providing extra resource to the purchasing team
• Carrying out various tactical day to day duties as well as helping on longer term projects and implementing new ideas
• Preparing purchased orders by verifying specifications and price, place POs with the relevant suppliers and manage all related queries (price, ETA, quantitates etc)
• Ensuring 00% of POs are acknowledged within agreed SLA
• Chasing and expediting purchase orders with suppliers
• Working closely with other departments, ensuring availability for production
• Manage tactical requests for Quotes
• Talking to suppliers, updating systems, stock control, price negotiations etc and ensuring that you ask the right questions and negotiate the best possible prices
• ERP data maintenance ensuring 100% data accuracy
• Managing strong relationships with suppliers and liaising with clients and other third parties

Person Specification:

• Well spoken, confident, assertive – outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Organised, efficient
• Strong administration skills
• Competent user of Excel
• Very focussed and diligent, high level of attention to detail
• Highly persistent when dealing with suppliers whilst maintaining the positive relationships
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Motivated and able to work under own initiative
• Good level of education, preferably A Level Standard, excellent level of Maths and English
• Understanding of construction materials, technical drawings or Bill of Materials is a strong advantage
• Experience in a purchasing role is desirable but not necessary
• Experience working with an ERP or procedure related software

Additional Information:

• Based in Purley
• 30-4.30pm, Monday to Friday (40-minute lunch break)
• Salary £22-25,000 (ideally starting salary of £23k)
