15 month fixed term contract
The Finance team is responsible for budgetary process and cost control to help the company achieve its objective which requires all members of the team to work closely with all departments across the business. Reporting into the Finance Controller, the aim of the Management & Planning Accountant is to support with analysing profitability and to assist with producing valuable financial reports internally.
Under the guidance of line management, assist in developing the Company’s Finance Management with specific focus on:
Achieving cost efficiency
Provide senior management with valuable information to assist in decision making.
Build and maintain a planning model for the Company that combines internal commercial inputs with behavioural assumptions and macro-economic data.
Assist the Finance Controller and other members of the Senior Management Team in the preparation of mid-term forecasts and detailed annual budget based on the strategic goals of the company utilising the planning model.
Provide ad hoc forecasts and planning information from the planning model as required.
Validation of monthly closing
Reporting validation and analysis of monthly closing figures to line manager and senior management with specific focus on:
Commission including marketing support
Monitoring costs based on the budget
Tracking provision movement including Residual Value
Coordinate information from Business Intelligence, Sales and Marketing functions to ensure effective administration of Marketing Fund.
Ensure accurate balance of marketing fund in the balance sheet and produce monthly report on OEM performance.
Produce quarterly cost benefit analysis of Marketing Fund utilisation and OEM support.
Prepare the monthly EFC report incorporating any approval items with relevant input from the concerned departments. Support line manager and other senior management to manage finance matters properly through EFC.
Oversee the Opex and cost management process and provide variance analysis to line manager in order to execute finance operation properly.
Procurement and purchasing procedure.
Effective management of procurement and purchasing, liaising with cost centre managers when seeking approval for relevant purchases.
Policy and procedure
Maintain up to date procedures and policies for all Finance functions (with exception of Treasury and Pricing) in line with Quality Assurance operation.
Risk and compliance
In line with the company’s risk and compliance statement of responsibility and objectives, identify risks, incidents, and breaches, in accordance with company policies and department procedures.
Must be capable of approaching a complex task or problem by breaking it down into its component parts and considering each part in detail.
Planning and Organising
Must be capable of developing coherent high-level (strategic) plans and detailed project/programme level plans, as well as following procedures and keeping clear, detailed records.
Displays an appropriate level of self-confidence, being able to engage with internal and external stakeholders in order to reach mutually beneficial business outcomes.
Must be an excellent team player, able to maintain a commercial view-point and establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and business partners.
Should be focused on gathering a variety of information in order to identify and organise data for analysis, challenge and decision-making as necessary.
Must be able to deliver clear written and verbal communication across all levels of the business including to senior management.
Required skills and experience.
Given the scope of this position it is essential that the job holder has the following skills and experience:
Any relevant work experience or in-depth knowledge in finance/accounting required.
Excellent analytical skills and must be able to demonstrate strong numerical ability.
Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel
Independent; ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance.
Well organised, goal orientated, able to meet deadlines and able to prioritise and delegate work.
Ability to work under pressure often dealing with several issues simultaneously.
Ability to grasp complex ideas quickly and effectively.
Proven team player.
Strong communication skills, with clear verbal communicate.
Good understanding about auto financing business
Has the relevant BA degree (relevant majors: Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, and etc.)
Professional accountancy related qualifications, part or full qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA)
Base salary range of £35,000 – £40,000
Eligibility for quarterly bonus, based on company and individual performance.
