Graphic Artist

To typeset accurately and swiftly in multiple languages and to produce effective and attractive designs for projects.

Job Description:
Liaising with the Creative Director
Design and typeset layouts for our magazine, using the company style guide
Produce templates for European language editions and typeset in eight languages
Creative and typesetting work as required by Marketing and other internal departments, including brochures, leaflets, flyers, posters, etc.
Combine written and visual design elements in a consistent manner to create a body of work, recognisable as part of a single corporate identity.
Thoroughly check setup of all jobs and produce press-ready PDF files to forward to printers’ FTP sites.
Maintain a clean and tidy system, including “housekeeping” as and when required
Ensure all procedures for jobs are followed and work is backed up regularly
Any other duties as, from time to time, may be required.

Person Specification;
HND or equivalent in Graphic design
Proficiency in Macintosh Desktop
Comprehensive QuarkXpress, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator & Acrobat
Preparing artwork for print
Handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic Adobe InDesign skills
Mac maintenance skills

Experience Required;
Minimum of 2 years previous design and typesetting experience in an advertising agency or in-house corporate department
A portfolio of Graphic Design work
Typesetting in foreign languages would be an advantage
